Cruise Nite 2014 was a great success again this year we would
like thank the Rocky Mountain Superchargers for the fine show they
put on Saturday night. We would also like to thank all the
participants and spectators that came out to support our event and
hope to see everyone next year! Here is a link to a really
nice spot that KHAS TV out of Hastings did on KRP 50 years of
This year Kearney Raceway Park is celebrating its 50th Anniversary! Kearney Dragway was first opened in 1964 by Carrol Sheldon on a runway at the old Kearney Army Airfield (a WWII bomber training base). The name was later changed to Kearney Raceway Park and has been in continuous operation for the past 50 years making it the 2nd longest operating track in NHRA Division 5. We have some big plans in the works for KRPI over the next few years. We would like to thank all the sponsors, racers and fans for all their support over the past 5 decades and with their help we plan on being here for many years to come!
We would like to welcome a couple of new sponsors to KRP for the 2014 race season. Thunder Head Brewing Company here in Kearney and Matco Tools who will be sponsoring our Sportsman series.
Also for 2014 the track will be holding the NHRA JDRL Division V Championship on June 20th, 21st and 22nd. This is the Jr. Dragster championship race for all of Division V.
